Regina N. Gibbons

Executive Director

A creative and effective planning expert with over 20 years of experience in the highly competitive institutional research and education market, Mrs. Regina Gibbons is ready to take her knowledge, ambition and inestimable skill to the next level. After a successful ten year run as an educator, Mrs. Gibbons plans to develop her leadership skills to establish herself as the preeminent education expert.

 

Mrs. Gibbons is a visionary with a high level of personal motivation and drive.  She continues to be a strategic critical thinker who is overly passionate about views concerning education and the empowerment of our youth. 

 

Mrs. Gibbons has an extensive educational background with degrees that stem from Psychology to Education.  Mrs. Gibbons is poised, competent, resourceful and articulate with the ability to maintain focus under pressure.

Mrs. Tammy Sellers

Board Member

Tammy K. Sellers is a high-level manager for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and has 34 years of law enforcement experience. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the American Military University in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in Law Enforcement Leadership. She is a member of the FBI’s Professional Support Advisory Committee (PSAC) which meets with prominent level management quarterly to discuss issues within the organization. She has received numerous incentive and time off awards for her outstanding leadership and management of operations. She has an overwhelming passion for criminal justice reform initiatives that focus on reducing recidivism. Her goal is to work as efficiently as possible to ensure the criminal justice system operates with fairness and protect civil liberties for all.

Mrs. Cynthia Roberson

Board Member

Cynthia C. Roberson has worked in the Human Service field for more than 29 years as a versatile, results-oriented manager with both hands-on and supervisory experience in all aspects of program development and family systems. Ms. Roberson is an innovative strategist with a proven ability to launch and manage new and large scale programs and events on the federal, state and local government levels. Ms. Roberson has facilitated multiple trainings, workshops and conferences on various levels focusing on family systems and strategic planning. Ms. Roberson was recently employed with the Mentor Maryland/Institute for Family Centered Services as the Director of State Operations for more than 25 years. In this position Ms.Roberson managed, operated, developed, monitored and implemented various systems of operations and accountability. Ms. Roberson has launched her own company Roberson Consultant, LLC providing technical support, guidance and system development to various community-based businesses. Ms. Roberson is currently employed with Concerted Care Group as their Cooperate Compliance Director. Ms. Roberson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Clinical, who received her MSW from Howard University and her BS degree from Benedict College. Ms. Roberson’s most notable Career Achievement was developing strong leadership teams, launching innovative programs and developing clinical treatment models.

Dr. Nicole King

SECRETARY

Dr. Nicole King is a native of the Bridgeton and Gouldtown area of New Jersey. She is the eldest of two daughters born to Wilmer Nell King and the late John King. She graduated from Cumberland Regional High School full of aspirations for her future. Dr. King graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Howard University in Washington, DC. She then pursued and obtained a Naturopathic Medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. Her studies involved learning the art and science of helping people heal with what nature has to offer. These studies include, but are not limited to botanical medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, nutritional counseling, and physical medicine. She also graduated from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Montclair, New Jersey with a degree in Acupuncture. The arduous journey through school has equipped her to offer quality, individualized healthcare to people of all ages. As the founder and operator of Wandering Dragon Acupuncture Service, LLC, Dr. King enjoys synthesizing the knowledge from her years of learning to provide patients with a thorough and pleasant treatment experience. She maintains two practice locations in Mantua, NJ and Franklinville, NJ., which allows her to be more accessible to patients seeking quality care. When Dr. King is not busy with her practice, she enjoys spending time with family and helping in the community. She especially loves volunteering time at her church, Union Baptist Temple, for various activities including serving as vice president of the Wellness Ministry. Years of participation in service organizations such as Girl Scouts of America, Big Brother Big Sister, Tau Beta Sigma Sorority, Inc and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., have made her passion for helping others a life long goal.

Ms. Kanasha Trent

Board Member

Kanasha (Kay) Trent is a financial consultant and bookkeeper. Ms. Trent graduated from the illustrious Hampton University, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. In the Washington, DC Metro Area, Ms. Trent started and grew her business as an administrative, event and financial specialist over the last 15 years. With budgets ranging from thousands to millions, Ms. Trent manages programs and financials for her clients in the corporate, entertainment, nonprofit and sports industry.  Prior to establishing herself in DC, she worked as an Assistant Director for a Youth Volleyball Academy in Texas. In her role, she oversaw fundraising, marketing, staff and player recruitment and program development as well as coached competitive travel teams.  Ms. Trent recently moved back to her hometown in the great state of Texas to be closer to her family. When Ms. Trent isn’t reconciling books or creating financial reports, she is enjoying life with her 6 nephews, coaching youth volleyball, playing outdoors with her 4 dogs, taking road trips/traveling and/or playing competitive softball.  Lyrics from the song I Lived, by One Republic, best define Ms. Trent’s life goals.

Mrs. Koretta K. McGhee

Koretta K. McGhee has an entrepreneurial and finance background, with more than 20years of experience. She has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and is currently pursuing her MBA, both from Temple University. Koretta is focused on youth mentorship, and has been a Girl Scout Troop leader for 6 years, while also being involved in several local community organizations.

Koretta was raised in Southern Arkansas, and has lived in several areas of the United States, and credits her travels with her well rounded approach to new ideas. As the daughter of a teacher and an accountant, she values educating and empowering youth.

Koretta currently lives outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband, Sherwin, and their three children, Kennedi, Kamden, & Kristian. She enjoys traveling, crafting, and spending time with family.

Mrs. Mattie Peterson

Mattie Gibbons Peterson is a managerial professional with over 18 years of experience in Financial Services.  Mattie currently works a Data and Automation Control Manager for JP Morgan Chase providing analytical support to manage and monitor day-to-day risks, compliance and financial performance of JPMC Business processes.  Mrs. Peterson has  previously held leadership roles with MBNA America Bank and Bank of America  with discipline in Underwriting, Collections/Recovery, Debt Sales, Vendor Management and Business Controls.

 

Mrs. Peterson holds a BBA from Temple University and a comprehensive MBA from Goldey Beacom College. She is well versed in demonstrated best management practices and is a natural leader who is tapped in for operational leadership of key strategic initiatives.  What sets Mattie apart is her willingness and courage to push the envelope in terms of what is possible for a business. Mattie resides in Bridgeton, NJ with her husband Mike and their 3 children- Deshaun, Aniah and Michael Jr. Aside from work and family, Mattie serves as an Advisor for Glory Tabernacle Church’s Discipleship Ministry, is an active member with the Vineland NAACP Unit, NJ School Board Association and serves as Vice President and Finance Committee Chair for the Fairfield Township Board of Education.

Mrs. Tracey Wells Huggins

Tracey Huggins has been a nurse for over 25 years, but in 2007 she also became a staunch and dedicated activist in the fight for juvenile system transformations and its need for family engagement.  She is a wife, mother, grandmother and mentor who is known across the country as an advocate, master facilitator, organizer and Motivational Speaker! 

Tracey began her journey into the work of Social & Criminal Justice Reform in 2007.  Seeing the opportunity for change and a need for family partnerships to ensure best outcomes for youth, she started Renewed Minds.  Partnering with entities such as Parents Anonymous, Tracey grew quickly into one of the most requested resources for families and young people involved with the criminal justice system and the phenomena of the school to prison pipeline. Tracey credits getting involved with organizations committed to a similar vision such as Justice for Families, The Campaign for Youth Justice, The Coalition for Juvenile Justice, and her appointment by the Governor  to the  NJ Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Advisory Group for her rapid growth since October 2007. 

Currently on sabbatical from her most recent role a Director of Nursing in a New Jersey long term care facility, Tracey is pursuing her Masters in Nursing (Wilmington University) while considering obtaining a degree in Divinity at Eastern University in Pennsylvania.  She is an esteemed Social Justice Fellow of two of Georgetown Universities’ prestigious Center for Juvenile Justice Reform’s Law Programs: 1) Reducing Racial and Ethnic Disparities and 2) Youth in Custody.  She is a national conference speaker and panelist and continues to mentor groups of young people from ages 8-20 through her Renewed Minds school and college-based programs. She is an astounding and honest Motivational Speaker that is featured in forums for youth and adults as well as many nationally published articles.  Tracey is committed to helping those who need it most to recognize that ‘their voices have power’ and that faith is the key!

 She is the 2014 Winner of the Natalie S. Bimel Award for Outstanding Community Organizer presented by the Annie E. Casey Foundation (Baltimore,MD). Further, she is committed to ensuring that family and community presence in decision-making spaces is seen not just as a passing fad, but as a significant resource for best outcomes in every system and neighborhood.  Above all of this, she is a firm believer that faith without works is dead and that every person has the ability to be a success…with a renewed mind!
