Youth desperately need the support of caring adult mentors to create and support long-term mentoring relationships that will help these youth to acquire critical developmental assets that will lead to improved academic performance, avoidance of adverse outcomes and lead to positive growth and development. When young people have the influence of a caring adult, they are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and focus on academics and being successful in their adult life. Y-KNOT Inc. was founded with a vision to eliminate the question of Y (why) in our youth and replacing it with the confidence in asking Y-KNOT (why not). We are a non-profit driven by passionate executive staff and volunteer community that holds the belief that mentorship will help eradicate the issues that have led our youth to struggle in school, be unequipped to adapt to society, or become entangled in the juvenile justice system. Y-KNOT believes that all youth deserve to be supported and nurtured as they mature into adulthood.
