Who's Eligible?

Qualified applicants for the 2021-2022 academic year must be 

  • High school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or better

  • Be accepted to an HBCU

  • An essay that describes yourself, and how you plan to make a positive impact on your community through higher education

  • Submit a completed application 

How Do I Apply?

Application must be submitted  no later than July 1, 2021 at 11:59 pm EST.

What Can I Expect Next?

All submissions will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. The committee will verify eligibility and after reading each essay, the team will select and notify the top three (3) applicants by mail. If needed, this process will repeat until the committee has five (3) fully verified applicants. 

Once scholarship recipients are chosen he or she will be awarded the grant in the form of a check.
 

What Can I Use the Money For?

Scholarship funding is strictly for educational purposes. Monies can be used to purchase school supplies, uniforms, books, and to pay for extracurricular activities such as sports and academic club fees

Frequently asked questions

When can I apply for the scholarship?


The scholarship season is April 1 - July 1 annually.
What is the deadline/postmark date to apply?
July 1 at 11:59 pm EST annually.




When will recipients be notified?


Announcements are made August 22 via email.
Can I still submit an application for consideration after the submission deadline?
Once the submission deadline (July 1, 11:59 pm EST) has passed, no applications will be accepted until the next scholarship season (April 1 of the following year).




How often are scholarships awarded?


Scholarships are awarded once an academic year.




How is the award paid?


The disbursement will be in the form of a check made payable to the recipient.
